It's been a bit quiet as of late, hasn't it?

I wonder how long it'll be this way.

[It's short, simple and to the point. A good way to gauge reactions from people -- who likes the quiet, who misses excitement, who is skeptical it'll last much longer. In any case, it's time for him to get on with his business.]

[For those in Goldenrod, you may see him hopping rather merrily along. He may be empty handed, or you may see him carrying four very different eggs! Or maybe you see him in that in-between, while he's at the Breeding Centre picking up his order.]

[Whatever it is... he wants to talk to you. He wants to see what you think of all these things! Flag him down, trip over his feet, ask him on a date... Izaya won't mind.]

Not particularly. Major holidays tend to bear the gift of rarer eggs, but aside from that? Really, very unpredictable.

Major holidays?

Christmas and Easter, it would seem.

Neither holiday of which I'm familiar with.

Many here aren't. And many here who are celebrate it in far different ways than Johto does.

How do you celebrate them then?

Me personally? I'm not one for holidays.

On the contrary - but most holiday celebrations where I'm from aren't done as such. It's really very repetitive most of the time.

How do you celebrate your holidays then?

Personally, I don't.

As I've gathered earlier, but I meant you in a general manner. Friends, family, strangers from your world.

It depends on the person and their location. Different countries have different forms of celebrations.

In my country, Christmas is a holiday for couples, generally. Close friends to an extent. But other cultures celebrate it as a strict religious observance, and others use it as a time for family and gift giving.

It's really very varied based on location and holiday.

A religious practice turned into an excuse to dilly-dally in romance. I'm not surprised. What does it symbolize though?

The birth of Christ in the Christian religions. Though most wouldn't view it as an "excuse to dilly-dally." In a world with many religious beliefs, many choose to use the time to celebrate it as a secular holiday; something of a meld of its original purpose and a winter solstice.

And since Japan's primary winter celebrations occur over the next week in conjunction with the new year, many have chosen to make it something a bit more intimate.

It's really interesting to see, in any case.

I see. I suppose if placed in that context, it certainly does seem more like a proper celebration rather than an excuse for it. You're quite informative. Are you interested in subjects like these?

Not particularly. I just like to be informed on these things.

I suppose it's useful if you wish to tell a tale to ignorant people like myself.

Which has turned out to be quite often here in Johto, really.

Are there plenty who's never heard of these holidays then?

You will, you will. I'm sure it'll come up more often closer to those holidays, of course.

The closer you get to a holiday, the more often those familiar begin to talk about it. In turn, you get plenty who ask about said holidays.

Are there plenty here who are unfamiliar with said holidays as well? Though I suppose it's expected, given we're not all originally from here.

A fair amount, yes. After all, there are many different holidays on the variety of worlds, hm?
